A. You were both where you are now at some point!

Are you sick of looking at other guys in your gym, in action movies or on the cover of fitness magazines and wondering why you don't look like them? Maybe you've seen the way guys look in action movies and you'd like to look that way, too. The problem is - as you may be aware as you read this - that creating a great body takes more than a few bicep curls! How exactly did people who have built truly amazing physiques do it? What is their secret?

Many people would take a quick look at the photos on this page and shout "steroids" but this isn't fair. Some of the best physiques around are built without steroids.

If you were caught using steroids in Vince Gironda's (right) gym, you were kicked out!

Wouldn't it be nice to jump into the mind of one of the guys above just to know what they know? Imagine one of these guys "lost" their physique overnight.

I'll bet you that they could get up the next day and begin rebuilding themselves. They could get back to their previous shape very quickly if they had the determination because they'd already know "all there is to know" about training and diet. It would be great if you could have the same knowledge right now...

Nobody is born with their ideal physique, as you may be aware. A great physique is built over time.

Most guys would agree that looking like Gerard Butler would be amazing. Other guys who either don't have the drive to build a strong, lean, healthy masculine body or simply deride others that have as "jerks" or "meatheads". I think this is just an example of jealousy. The truth of the matter is, a great body is something that can be built by anyone - especially you, and it always leads to more confidence and happiness for anyone who has the dedication to do so.

Training isn't just about looking good. A mindset of self improvement cultivated in the gym can spill into all areas of your life.

Imagine getting out of bed and looking in the mirror only to see a chiseled physique like the ones above. I bet that would put a spring in your step!

The real key to such a transformation isn't supplements or steroids or even spending a ridiculous amount of time in the gym - nobody should want to live in the gym! The key is knowledge. Knowing what to lift, how to lift it. Knowing when to rest and how long for.

A. They are all a waste of time of weight loss.

That's right; I said yoga, spinning classes, treadmills and cardio are a complete and utter waste of time for anyone trying to lose weight and keep it off.

Somewhere, deep down, you know this is true. You know that all those women who spend hours and hours running on treadmills aren't actually going anywhere - in any sense of the word. You know that even though some people do lose weight with a bit of cardio, they get "locked in" and have to keep on doing cardio like a hamster on a while in a frantic bid to stay in the shape they want to.

Before I begin talking about the smart way to get lean, toned and stay that way, let me first shatter some preconceptions right here, right now. The first is the idea that if a woman so much as look at a dumbbell, she will become a monstrous she-hulk. Women do not have the necessary genetics or hormones to become bulky or masculine. It's that simple.

With that said, you may have seen some women lifting weights in your gym. Why? What's the big idea? Are they trying to build bulging biceps? This seems a bit stupid considering what I told you above.

The truth is that they may be smarter than you think.

Lean muscle burns calories. A man with massive amounts of lean muscle will tear through calories, often faster than they can consume them from decent food! (Bodybuilders and powerlifters eat a notorious amount of food). To many women, this almost sounds like a good problem to have as they starve themselves and stumble from crash diet to spinning class in a futile bid to get lean and look sexy again.

The flabby, saggy look for women is out.

The toned, firm, feminine, youthful, slender and sexy look is in: to stay.

With a weight lifting program of any kind, a woman can add slender, sexy lean muscle to her physique. She won't get bulging biceps or triceps by lifting weight but she may well "tone" and firm muscles in her body. As she increases the amount of *lean* muscle in her body, even slightly, her metabolism will increase as every gram of muscle requires its own fuel.

It doesn't take a genius to realise that lifting a few dumbbells in the gym is the smart way to get a grip on your weight once and for all...and have some fun whilst doing so!

If you have an open mind, keep reading.
